Sports of European Youth Olympic Festival unveiled

Baku. 12 June. REPORT.AZ/ The Ministry of Youth and Sport has held a meeting to discuss preparation for the European Youth Olympic Festival to be held in Baku in 2019.

Report was informed in the press service of the Ministry, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, Chingiz Huseynzade, Deputy Minister Ismayil Ismayilov, Head of Sport Department of the Ministry Farid Mansurov, officials of sports federations and sports experts attended the meeting headed by Azad Rahimov.

It was noted that 2,000 athletes, more than 1500 delegates and 3500-4000 guests from 50 countries of the continent are expected to arrive in Baku to participate in the competition which will last 6 days.

Athletes will compete in 10 sport on 13 programs ( 9 basic sports, hosting team has one more sport: athletics, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball, Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling). The opening ceremony will take place at Crystal Hall.
