Newly elected FIDE President Timur Turlov has paid a visit to Baku.
According to Report, citing the Azerbaijan Chess Federation (ACF), Turlov met with ACF President Mahir Mammadov.
The sides exchanged views on the development of chess in Azerbaijan, Baku's experience in hosting international tournaments, and future prospects for cooperation between FIDE and the Azerbaijan Chess Federation.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the national federation presented the guest with a commemorative gift.
Last month, Timur Turlov was elected President of FIDE, while Mahir Mammadov was elected Vice President of the world chess governing body for a third term.
