Ivan Zemlyansky becomes youngest grandmaster in Russian history

Russian chess player Ivan Zemlyansky received grandmaster status at the age of 13, according to the website of the Russian Chess Federation, Report informs via Oreanda News.
Zemlyansky became the youngest grandmaster among his compatriots in history.
He managed to complete the grandmaster's final norm at the competitions taking place in the UAE these days.
"The Russian Chess Federation congratulates Ivan Zemlyansky, his coach Yaroslav Prizant, and the athlete's family and friends on a grand achievement!" - the message says.
Currently, Zemlyansky is 14 years and 8 months old.
