Azerbaijani woman wrestler becomes European champion

Azerbaijani wrestler Ruzanna Mammadova has won the U-20 European Championship held in Caorle, Italy, Report informs.

The Azerbaijani national team member won a gold medal in the 62 kg weight category.

She defeated German Leonie Steigert in the final with a score of 4:3.

Ruzanna has become the European champion among youth for the second consecutive time.

Zahra Karimzada (72 kg) lost to Croatian Veronika Vilk with a score of 2:8 in the consolation match.

Thus, Azerbaijani women's national team finished the continental championship with 2 gold medals. Yesterday, Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) became the European champion.
