Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter misses Grand Prix England after losing her passport in Istanbul

Baku. 24 October. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter Patimat Abakarova missed the Grand Prix held in England's Manchester because of losing her foreign passport, Report informs citing the assistant coach of the national team Elnur Amanov.

He said the passport was lost at the Ataturk Airport in Istanbul: "After passing control in Istanbul, we had a few hours ahead of the Manchester flight. Patimat Abakarova first went for tea with Farida Azizova and then left for the mosque. As a result, Abakarova had to return to Baku and was unable to take part in the competitions in Manchester."

Amanov noted that despite searches and appeals to the police, the passport was not found: "We were told in the airport in Istanbul that if they find it, they will send it to Azerbaijan. However, it has not been found yet. Upon return from Manchester we asked the Istanbul police again and again the answer was negative."

The coach hopes that if the passport is found by an adequate person, he will take it to the police or the inquiry bureau.
