Azerbaijani judoka Mahammad Aghakishiyev (73 kg) defeated his Armenian opponent with an ippon at the 18th Summer European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) held in Skopje, North Macedonia, Report informs, citing the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan.
Starting his campaign from the round of 16, Aghakishiyev faced Tigran Sarukhanyan of Armenia and secured a convincing win, advancing to the quarterfinals.
Earlier, another Azerbaijani judoka, Amin Mehdiyev (81 kg), also advanced to the quarterfinal stage.
