Azerbaijan wrestling team rivals in the World Cup unveiled

Baku. 14 February. REPORT.AZ/ Draw for 2018 United World Wrestling Freestyle World Cup in Iowa City has been thrown.

Report informs, at the event held at the headquarters of the United World Wrestling (UWW), the rivals of the national team of Azerbaijan were identified. The team led by Firdovsi Umudov will compete in the B subgroup with the Cuban, Kazakhstan and Russian teams.

The US, Iran, Georgia and Japan will compete in A subgroup.

The national team will meet with Cuba and Kazakhstan on April 7, and in subgroup meetings with Russia on April 8.

Notably, Azerbaijani team took third place in the same competition last year. Before that, the Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team twice won the World Cup in 2004 and 2009.
