Azerbaijan's fencing team ranks 9th in World Cup

Azerbaijan's women's national team of saber fencing took 9th place in the qualification for the World Cup held in Algeria, Report informs.

Anna Bashta, Sabina Karimova, Palina Kaspiarovich, and Valery Bolshakova participated in the team competition.

Having lost to Japan with a score of 36:45, Azerbaijani Sabreuse, who missed the chance to advance to the top 8, won the matches for 9th place against the teams of Romania (45:37), China (45:44), and Poland (45:40).

Only Valery Bolshakova managed to advance to the top 32 in the personal competition of sabreuse.
