Azerbaijan's chef de mission: Patrick Brachner fell in frozen area but not injured

Baku. 22 February. REPORT.AZ/ Patrick Brachner started the race very well and was moving fast. However, as there was an icy area, in race most athletes slip and fell.

Anar Baghirov, Chef de mission of Azerbaijan in 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea said, commenting on Azerbaijan's only representative Patrick Brachner’s failure to reach the finals.

He said that along with the 26-year-old Austrian legionary, world and Olympic medalists fell down. 52 athletes out of 108 participants reached the finish line in Run 1. Others stopped competing. Patrick Brachner has fallen but not injured”.

Baghirov said that the Azerbaijani delegation will leave PyeongChang on February 26 and arrive in Baku the next day.

Notably, Winter Olympics end on February 25.
