Azerbaijan bids to host 2027 Ski Mountaineering World Championships

The Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation (AWSF) has applied to an international organization to host the Ski Mountaineering World Championships in 2027, AWSF Secretary General Gunel Badalova told Report.

Badalova said they expect a positive response from the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF):

"We hope that the response will be positive for us."

Badalova also shared her thoughts on Azerbaijan hosting the European Ski Mountaineering Championships and World Cup in 2026:

"The European Championship was planned earlier. The tournament will take place between March 4-8. We also applied for the World Cup. This was also accepted positively. The competitions will take place in the same month. We will start preparations some time before the start."

The European Championship is scheduled to be held on March 4-8, 2026, and the World Cup on March 6-8 at the Shahdag Mountain Resort.
