Victim at Vardanyan trial: 'I was wounded in leg by exploding shell'

Victims gave testimony at today’s court hearing in the criminal case against Armenian citizen Ruben Vardanyan, who is accused of war crimes and other serious offenses.

According to Report, Mehman Hasanov, one of the victims, stated that he was working as an excavator driver during road construction near the village of Mollalar in the Aghdam district.

"I was standing near the excavator and planning the work when I heard the sound of explosions. I then headed to the nearest wooded area to take cover," he said.

According to Hasanov, a shell exploded approximately 80 meters away from him. He sustained a wound to his right knee, and people who were nearby took him to the Aghdam District Central Hospital.

The forensic medical examination report concerning his injuries was also presented during the court session.
