Ahliman Ganjiyev's defense appealed his arrest in Russia's Yekaterinburg - UPDATED

The lawyer of another defendant in the Yekaterinburg cases, Ahliman Ganjiyev, has filed an appeal against the preventive measure in the form of arrest, Report informs referring to Russian media.

"The appeal regarding Ganjiyev was received from the lawyer," the press service of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court noted.

The defense of three defendants - Akif Safarov, Ayaz Safarov and Shahin Lalayev - also appealed the court's decision to arrest them until July 19 inclusive. A total of eight Azerbaijanis have been arrested in this case.

Ayaz Safarov and Shahin Lalayev, Azerbaijanis who were accused of organizing a murder in Yekaterinburg in previous years, have appealed the court decision, the joint press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region told TASS.

Earlier, the Lenin District Court of Yekaterinburg arrested eight Azerbaijanis - Ayaz, Akif, Mazahir, Kamal and Bakir Safarovs, Ahliman Ganjiyev, Shahin Lalayev and Aziz Abbasov. Akif Safarov also previously appealed the arrest decision.

"Appeals have been filed from lawyers regarding Ayaz Safarov and Shahin Lalayev," the TASS interviewee said.

Ayaz Safarov and Shahin Lalayev were arrested on July 19.
