Ten caught red-handed in corruption crackdown this year

During the six months of the year, the operational units of the Main Department for Combating Corruption initiated 59 criminal cases, as stated at the operational meeting of the Main Department for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor.

According to Report, as a result of 12 operational-search activities, 10 people were caught red-handed while committing corruption crimes, and 7 people who were wanted were also detained.

During the reporting period, the Main Department completed preliminary investigations on 72 criminal cases involving 113 individuals; 54 criminal cases involving 85 individuals were sent to courts for consideration. For the vast majority of the cases sent to the courts, guilty verdicts have been issued; the rest are currently under judicial review.
