Supreme court chairs of Azerbaijan and Iraq meet in Baku

A meeting was held at the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan with a delegation led by Munther Ibrahim Hussein, the President of the Federal Supreme Court of Iraq, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani side.

The Chairman of Azerbaijan's Supreme Court, Inam Karimov, welcomed the Iraqi official, stating that friendly and cooperative relations between Iraq and Azerbaijan are developing on an upward trend. During the meeting, detailed information was provided about the reforms being implemented to improve the country's judicial system. It was mentioned that the use of modern information technologies in the judicial system is expanding, the selection procedures for judicial positions are being aligned with international standards, and the legislative framework is being continuously updated.

The availability of favorable opportunities for expanding bilateral relations in the judicial field, promoting the exchange of experience and information, as well as deepening cooperation, was emphasized.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the head of the Iraqi delegation, Munther Ibrahim Hussein, underscored the importance of further developing cooperation between the two countries in the judicial-legal field. He hailed the reforms carried out in the Azerbaijani judicial system and the achievements in this regard, stating that the exchange of relevant experience would be beneficial.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest.
