Suicide cases decreased in Azerbaijan last year, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said in his speech at the board meeting of the General Prosecutor's Office dedicated to the results of 2022 and upcoming tasks, Report informs.

The Prosecutor General said that compared to 2021, there is a decrease in the number of suicide incidents that occurred during the reporting period: "During the reporting period, 46 criminal cases related to suicide were initiated, 6 of which were sent to relevant courts for consideration. In 2021, it was emphasized that fewer criminal cases related to suicide were sent to court."

"In order to minimize such cases, the importance of focusing on the measures implemented by the working group with the participation of the representatives of relevant institutions organized by the General Prosecutor's Office, as well as the employees of the General Prosecutor's Office, was stated,” Aliyev said.
