Azerbaijan is set to actively implement digital technologies within its criminal justice system, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev said during a lecture at the National Aviation Academy, according to Report.
He noted that proposals have been prepared to amend legislation, allowing for the collection of electronic evidence, digital documentation of investigative procedures, and the introduction of a new system called “Electronic Pre-Trial Proceedings.” According to him, these initiatives aim to broaden the use of modern technology in law enforcement and boost overall efficiency.
The lecture also touched on the potential of artificial intelligence in court proceedings and criminal investigations, as well as best practices from other countries in this area.
Kamran Aliyev emphasized that the “Electronic Prosecutor’s Office” system, in operation since 2023, is already contributing to greater transparency and effectiveness in the prosecutor’s office.
