Manukyan: Defense Minister of illegal regime was appointed by Armenian president

During the ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court on April 4, defendant David Manukyan, a former officer and Major General of the Armenian Armed Forces, stated that the "defense minister" of the illegal regime in the formerly occupied territories of Azerbaijan was appointed by the Republic of Armenia.

According to Report, Manukyan testified that the so-called regime's "president" did not have the authority to appoint the "defense minister."

"Depending on the governance system in the Republic of Armenia, the 'defense minister' was appointed either by the president or by another official," Manukyan stated as he was questioned by the state prosecutor.

He further revealed that high-ranking military positions for officers serving in the "army" of the illegal entity were also granted by Armenia.

The trial continues for Armenian citizens accused of committing crimes against peace and humanity, including war crimes, genocide, violations of the laws and customs of war, terrorism, financing terrorism, forcible seizure and retention of power, and numerous other offenses stemming from Armenia's military aggression.
