Landmine explosion injures two in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam

A mine incident occurred in Aliagali village of the Aghdam district, which was liberated from occupation, the press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Prosecutor General's Office and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said in a joint statement, Report informs.

According to the information, on April 12, 2024, Bagirov Mirfattah Baghir oghlu, born in 1965, and Teymurov Khagani Allahverdi oghlu, born in 1973, fell into an anti-personnel landmine near the former contact line, in an area not cleared of mines. Both men were injured in the leg.

An investigation is underway at the Aghdam District Prosecutor's Office.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General's Office and ANAMA once again call on citizens to observe safety rules, to pay attention to mine danger signs and not to enter areas they are not familiar with," reads the joint statement.
