David Ishkhanyan calls unification of Karabakh with Armenia his main goal in video footage played at court

During the ongoing trial at the Baku Military Court on Thursday, a video recording of an interview given by defendant David Ishkhanyan to the television station of the now-defunct illegal regime in 2016 was played.

Report informs that in the video footage, Ishkhanyan, answering the journalist's questions, spoke about the activities of Dashnaktsutyun supporters in the territories of Azerbaijan:

"Dashnaktsutyun came to Karabakh in 1990–1991. The main activity, of course, was in the frontline. That is why work was carried out in this regard. Dashnaktsutyun was active in Karabakh not only with weapons, but also in terms of material and human resources. Another main issue was the organization. Dashnaktsutyun played the role of a shield for us. It is no coincidence that the Dashnaktsutyun party showed its brilliant activity in army building and other areas in 1990–1991 and until 1994. At that time, Dashnak representatives, fighters and groups were being formed. I was one of them at that time."

Ishkhanyan, answering the question of the journalist about the unification of the old military unit created in the lands of Azerbaijan with Armenia, said: “This is my personal opinion, the best way is to go to Karabakh at the end.” "This should be our main and final result. For me, the history of Karabakh and Armenia are the same, I see them as one."

Ishkhanyan, answering questions from the state prosecutor in court about an interview he gave to the television of the now-defunct illegal regime, denied the statements made in the video footage that the Dashnaktsutyun provided military support to the former illegal regime.
