Bakhtiyar Hajiyev sentenced to 50-day pre-trial detention - UPDATE

Social activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev was sentenced to pre-trial detention for one month and 20 days following the verdict by the Khatai District Court, advocate Agil Lahij said, Report informs.

Azerbaijani activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev was detained, and a criminal case was initiated against him, the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in response to a press request, Report informs.

According to the information, the detention of Bakhtiyar Hajiyev is related to the criminal case initiated by the Baku City Police Department under Articles 221 (Hooliganism) and 289 (Contempt of Court) of the Criminal Code. He was sent to court today to choose a preventive measure against him.
