Sharp increase in number of active startups predicted in Azerbaijan

The number of active startups in Azerbaijan has exceeded 100, but by the end of 2025 it is planned to increase this figure to 450, Chairperson of Azerbaijan’s Agency for Innovation and Digital Development under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport Inara Valiyeva said at a meeting dedicated to the startup ecosystem, Report informs.

She noted that up to 5,000 beneficiaries benefited from the activities of the organization she heads in 2022-2023.

“Currently, there are 63 residents in our technology park. Only a few of them are foreign residents. Our plans also include the creation of two innovation clusters and seven innovation centers in the country. One of our most successful activities is the Technest program. The number of graduates of this program has exceeded 4,000 people, but we intend to increase this figure to 19,000,” Valiyeva added.
