Official: Internet speed in Azerbaijan is not slow

The Internet speed in Azerbaijan is not slow, Jeyhun Huseynzada, Deputy Chairman of the Information and Communication Technologies Agency (ICTA), told journalists, Report informs.

According to Huseynzada, the speed of the Internet in the country has increased threefold in the last 3 years: "If you compare it with previous periods, you can see considerable progress in the quality of the Internet. The use of GPON technologies in the country within the framework of the Online Azerbaijan project has reached 100%."

He said that GPON technology can provide faster Internet than other previous technologies: "Therefore, I do not agree with the remarks that the Internet speed in Azerbaijan is slow."
