Number of cyberattacks on Azerbaijani state institutions down by 45% in July

The number of cyberattacks on Azerbaijani state institutions decreased by 45% in July.
From January to July this year, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan detected 573 cyberattack indicators (IOCs) targeting government agencies.
According to Report’s calculations based on data from the State Service, this is 8% less compared to the same period last year.
Specifically, 206 cyber threats were identified and blocked based on internal investigations, while 367 were detected during incident investigations initiated by requests from government institutions.
In July alone, 69 cyberattacks were detected, which is 45% less than a year ago.
During the reporting period, 314.88 million malicious redirects were blocked through the AzStateNet network, 15,846,700 malicious electronic documents were blocked via the central antivirus system installed on end-user devices, and 62,667 malicious electronic documents were blocked by the Sandbox protection system.
