Dmitry Alekseev: ICT growth in Azerbaijan in 2025 will be 9-12%

Russian technologies have significant potential for implementation in Azerbaijan, the "digital attaché" of the Russian Trade Mission in Azerbaijan Dmitry Alekseev said, Report informs.

He noted that this particularly concerns products in the field of creating smart cities, the use of artificial intelligence in industry, the agricultural sector, tourism, and education.

"Russian companies should be ready to demonstrate their competitive advantages within the pilot projects. The planned growth of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan in 2025 will be 9-12%," Alekseev noted.

He added that the main tasks of Azerbaijan's digital transformation are the transition to a digital government, strengthening the infrastructure, including the development of broadband networks, increasing the level of digital literacy and strengthening state and corporate cybersecurity.

"The government supports the creation of new enterprises, especially in manufacturing and technology. Azerbaijan offers tax breaks and subsidies to foreign investors, which can make business development in the country very profitable. For the successful development of export hypotheses, Russian companies must be ready to demonstrate comparative competitive advantages in pilot projects. Russian technologies and products in the field of public services, smart cities, AI in industry, agriculture, tourism, and education have significant potential for implementation in Azerbaijan," Alekseev said.
