The Online Azerbaijan project has become one of the key steps towards the country's digital transformation, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Transport and Communications Holding (AZCON) Shahin Babayev said at the reporting event, Report informs.
He noted that the goal of the initiative is to provide access to the Internet and digital technologies for all citizens, including schoolchildren.
He emphasized that digital technologies play an important role in improving people's well-being, contributing to sustainable development and global progress.
"According to the UN, 3.7 billion people in the world still do not have access to the Internet, which is a third of the world's population. In this regard, the UN has developed the Global Digital Compact initiative, according to which Internet access should be provided to everyone by 2030," Babayev said.
