The satellite imagery market still does not fully meet the needs of users, despite its rapid development, Andras Sik, Chief Geodata Officer at 4iG Space and Defence Technologies, said at the STC2025 conference in Baku, Report informs.
He noted that priority should be given not to the number of satellites, but to convenient data integration.
"Users are not interested in the technical characteristics of satellites, but in the frequency of image updates and coverage of specific areas. Simple and user-oriented systems are needed that will allow, for example, to receive automatic notifications about new images for a selected area," he added.
Sik noted that the market still lacks a unified and functional approach, which is why users spend extra time searching for and processing data from alternative sources.
