WHO reports 80 confirmed cases of monkeypox in 11 countries

The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported nearly 80 confirmed cases of infection with monkeypox. Studies are underway on 50 more cases, Report informs, citing foreign media.
The recent outbreaks reported by 11 countries are untypical since they appeared in non-endemic states, the organization said.
Earlier, it reported 37 confirmed cases of infection.
Monkeypox cases were detected in Spain, Portugal, the UK, Belgium, Italy, France, Germany, Sweden, Canada, the United States, and Australia.
Monkeypox is a rare viral infection that is transmitted among people. It is usually mild, and most people recover in a few weeks, but there are some possible complications.
