"The issue of obtaining fake coronavirus certificates and references exists not only in Azerbaijan but also in all developed countries. Unfortunately, we also observe such cases in our country. If we consider total statistics, I think this is not a significant number. I do not believe that these facts can make a big difference in infection statistics. Because it may be a very small number," said Tayyar Eyvazov, chief infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health, told Report.
According to him, in any case, serious preventive measures should be taken against this case: "The revealed facts also give grounds to say that our state is taking serious steps in this direction. Those involved in this issue should know that they are deceiving the state. No one should forget that our government does a lot to prevent the pandemic and incurs huge costs. On the other hand, if a person obtaining a fake vaccination card gets infected with the virus, it will undermine the vaccination process. Third, that person deceives himself is a potential source of infection.
"A person who receives a fake certificate may be young but poses a serious threat to those at risk. Therefore, it is a great responsibility. A person who pretends himself as vaccinated has the potential to spread the infection. Because according to the vaccination strategy, some people can't get vaccinated. They are also given a certificate of contraindications. The high number of vaccination also ensures the safety of those in special risk groups. Therefore, those who receive a fake vaccination certificate do not protect them and may even make themselves sick. If people with contraindication to vaccination contract with the virus because of these people, they will bear responsibility for it. Therefore, the documentation process related to certificates and references should be entrusted to those who reject any proposal.
Notably, the number of coronavirus infections in the country has risen dramatically in recent weeks.
