Yuriy Husyev: Kyiv, Baku explore deepening collaboration in oil & gas sector

Azerbaijan and Ukraine are discussing opportunities to deepen cooperation in the oil and gas sector, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev said, Report informs.

"It is clear that Azerbaijan, which produces oil and gas and is expanding its presence in the European energy market, as well as Ukraine, which is rejecting Russian fuel, are interested in deepening such cooperation," the ambassador said.

He also highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan's assistance in Ukraine's energy security issues.

"Azerbaijan continues to provide assistance in the form of energy equipment for the restoration of our energy system," Husyev said.

The diplomat emphasized that Azerbaijan, which is Ukraine's long-term strategic partner, has consistently expressed and shown support to Kyiv after the invasion of Russian troops into Ukraine.

"Ukraine and Azerbaijan have been strategic partners for many years, and this partnership has significant historical roots based on friendship," the ambassador concluded.
