Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan discuss strategic partnership ties

Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova, Report informs, citing the Uzbek leader’s press service.

Gafarova conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Mirziyoyev.

During their discussions, both sides explored ways to further expand and strengthen the friendship, strategic partnership, and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. They highlighted the positive outcomes of the Year of Economic Cooperation, noting the steady growth in trade turnover and ongoing collaboration on various economic projects.

Additionally, both nations continue to host regular cultural and humanitarian events.

The parties underscored the importance of sustained engagement through parliamentary channels, emphasizing the need for active exchanges to oversee the implementation of agreements and formulate new proposals for future high-level summits.
