The government of Azerbaijan has made progress in demining, restoration, reconstruction, and socio-economic development of the liberated territories, Kanako Mabuchi, the head of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Azerbaijan, told Report.
She noted that the UN continues to support the efforts of the Azerbaijani government in the context of post-conflict recovery.
"We will continue our partnership in this direction and remain committed to our obligations to accelerate Azerbaijan's progress towards sustainable development goals," she emphasized.
Mabuchi added that the UN representation in Azerbaijan recognizes the importance of the demining process as a prerequisite for the safe return, reintegration, and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons.
"UN support includes: demining, providing livelihood support for returned IDPs, social services, legal assistance, environmental restoration, and energy efficiency," concluded Kanako Mabuchi.
