Turkish minister: Karabakh for Türkiye is what Kahramanmaras is for Azerbaijan

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya has drawn a symbolic parallel between Karabakh and Kahramanmaras, highlighting the depth of ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, Report informs.

“For Türkiye, Karabakh means the same as Kahramanmaras for Azerbaijan,” Yerlikaya said, expressing gratitude to the President and people of Azerbaijan for their support following the 2023 earthquakes. "The Azerbaijani quarter in Kahramanmaras once again showed that we are ‘One nation, two states.’ Today, with the support of Azerbaijan, 1,213 apartments, 1,782 jobs, and one school are opening in Kahramanmaras.”

On February 6, 2023, a devastating earthquake with magnitudes of 7.7 and 7.6 struck Türkiye, with its epicenter in Kahramanmaras. The disaster claimed 53,537 lives, left 107,213 injured, and destroyed 38,901 buildings.
