Turkish expert: Armenia's aggressive behavior is unacceptable

Armenia's aggressive behavior is unacceptable, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University lecturer and foreign policy commentator Esma Ozdasli said at a roundtable discussion on "Threats and Opportunities Created by New Geopolitical Realities for Turkish-Azerbaijani Relations," Report informs.

Ozdasli noted that the Zangazur corridor should be viewed as a peace corridor:

"Looking at a map, even a first-grader will say that the Zangazur corridor can connect Nakhchivan with other territories of Azerbaijan. It is true that Azerbaijan has alternatives to this route, and these alternatives would make Armenia's work even more difficult. Because Armenia is a country without natural resources, the opening of the Zangazur corridor would benefit it the most. However, first of all, the territorial claims against Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia must be eliminated, and its aggressive behavior is unacceptable."

Touching on Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, the expert said that Türkiye was the first country to recognize Azerbaijan's independence:

"Our relations are based on brotherhood and friendship, not profit. Within this framework, we have developed our cooperation in most areas. Today, the Azerbaijani Army is organized on the basis of the Turkish model, and relations in the security sector are further strengthened.

"Türkiye and Azerbaijan mutually enrich each other. In my opinion, the area that gives the most impetus to relations between the two countries today is energy. There are many projects in this regard, such as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and TANAP. Azerbaijan plays an active role in the energy security of the region thanks to its natural resources."
