Turkish envoy: Opening of Zangazur Corridor will strengthen capabilities of Turkic world within Middle Corridor

The signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the opening of the Zangazur Corridor will significantly expand the transport and economic opportunities of the Turkic world within the framework of the Middle Corridor from China to London. Türkiye supports this process, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün said in an interview with Anadolu Agency, Report informs.

"Today the trade volume between Azerbaijan and Türkiye is $6.5 billion. We plan to increase this figure to $15 billion. This is achievable in 3-5 years with accelerated integration," the diplomat noted.

He emphasized the practical significance of strategic ties based on the principle of "one nation - two states," and noted Türkiye's support for Azerbaijan in the Second Karabakh War.

Akgün also recalled the participation of Turkish companies in the reconstruction of Karabakh and noted the importance of deepening cooperation in economy and culture.
