Fighting against discrimination and intolerance has now become a necessity, Timothy P. Stratford, General Counsel of the G20 Interfaith Forum, stated at the international conference themed "Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas" in Baku, Report informs.
According to Stratford, religious leaders should be involved in the process to accomplish these tasks:
"Religious organizations and state bodies can find solutions through discussions. However, it should be noted that Islamophobia can also be observed in countries where Muslims constitute the majority. In such cases, the level of education should be increased in those countries to combat such problems. Islamophobia can even be exploited by political opportunists. It is necessary to develop legal norms against such cases. Societies living in peace ensure human dignity. Therefore, it is important to bring peace to societies."
