Transitional President of Syria Ahmad al-Sharaa arrives in Azerbaijan on working visit

President of the Syrian Arab Republic for the transitional period Ahmad Al-Sharaa arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on a working visit on July 12, Report informs via AZERTAC.

A guard of honor was lined up for the Syrian leader at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, decorated with national flags of both countries.

Syria’s Transitional President Ahmad Al-Sharaa was welcomed by First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov, Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, and other officials.

Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa is heading for the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit, Report informs via SANA.

The last meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Ahmad al-Sharaa took place on April 11 in Antalya. During the talks, Ilham Aliyev invited al-Sharaa to visit Azerbaijan.

On May 4, an Azerbaijani government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov visited Syria to support the country's reconstruction and development, as well as to discuss prospects for cooperation with the current transitional government in areas such as economics, energy, culture, and education.
