Steinmeier: Germany attaches great importance to Middle Corridor project

Germany attaches great importance to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR - Middle Corridor) project, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said while making joint press statements with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

He noted that Azerbaijan has turned into a hub where important trade routes intersect.

"Berlin advocates for the development of cooperation in the transport sector. Azerbaijan can play an important role in the development of our transport connections with Central Asia, the Far East, and China. From this perspective, the Middle Corridor is an important project for the German economy," he added.

Steinmeier also emphasized that sustainable peace and stability in the South Caucasus will give even greater impetus to the economic development of the region.
