Speaker of Azerbaijani parliament meets with Turkiye's ex-FM

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis (Parliament), had a meeting with Mevlut Cavusoglu, former Foreign Minister of Türkiye and member of the Grand National Assembly, who also heads the delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Report informs, citing Milli Majlis.

During the meeting, both parties highlighted the ongoing high-level cooperation at the parliamentary level.

They acknowledged the valuable contributions of parliamentary speakers, friendship groups, and MPs to bilateral relations and were pleased with the unified stance of legislative bodies and MPs in all international parliamentary organizations.

The cooperation among parliamentarians was recognized as crucial in countering smear and pressure campaigns against their countries.

Additionally, the discussion touched upon the successful organization of COP29 hosted by Azerbaijan, which was seen as a significant contribution to global initiatives.

The meeting also included discussions on the current regional situation and emphasized the importance of the international conference of the West Azerbaijan Community on "Right of Return - Promoting Justice for Azerbaijanis Forced to Leave Armenia."
