Shamil Ayrim: Türkiye supports revival of Azerbaijan’s Karabakh

Türkiye fully supports Azerbaijan in the revival of Karabakh and will continue to do so, stated Shamil Ayrim, head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Report informs.

Ayrim made this announcement at the international parliamentary conference on "Parliamentarism: Traditions and Perspectives" held in Baku.

He noted that Azerbaijan was able to secure its sovereignty through the Patriotic War and anti-terror operations. "Türkiye is always by Azerbaijan's side. We visit the liberated territories and witness the destruction there. We will never forget this oppression and will always remember it. We fully support and will continue to support Azerbaijan in Karabakh's revival," Ayrim emphasized.

The official also addressed the issue of Western Azerbaijanis returning to their lands, stating that those forcibly expelled have the right to return: "Where is the world's justice? During the Karabakh War, Azerbaijan wasted 30 years with the OSCE Minsk group. Armenians should not hesitate about Western Azerbaijanis returning to their homeland. I propose including the issue of Western Azerbaijanis in today's protocol."

Ayrim underlined that today Azerbaijan extends a hand of peace to Armenia: "The region's stability depends on this. However, unfortunately, there are those who oppose peoples living happily. Azerbaijan doesn't want territory; it demands its rights under international law."
