Sergey Lebedev to lead mission from CIS in Azerbaijan’s presidential elections

The observer mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) at the early presidential elections in Azerbaijan will be led by Secretary General Sergey Lebedev, Report informs referring to the CIS Executive Committee.
His candidacy was approved by a decision of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS countries to the statutory and other bodies of the commonwealth.
The CIS observer mission will monitor the election campaign at the invitation of the Azerbaijani government. The CIS Executive Committee sent out invitations to the Commonwealth countries with a request to nominate their representatives to the mission.
Early presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024.
