Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, Report informs referring to the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Lavrov noted that over the past decades, relations between the two countries based on the principles of friendship and good neighborliness have strengthened and continue to develop, and the relations between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin are of a trusting nature.
The Russian minister emphasized that the department he heads is aimed at continuing cooperation with Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.
"I am convinced that the coordination of actions and mutual support in international forums, fruitful cooperation within the CIS and regional formats will contribute to the implementation of mutually beneficial agreements, work to strengthen stability and security in the South Caucasus and the Caspian region," he noted.
