Sahiba Gafarova: Azerbaijan attaches special importance to strengthening Turkic world

On February 28, Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, had a meeting with President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova, Report informs, citing the Milli Majlis.

Gafarova spoke about the significance of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation. She said that Azerbaijan places special importance on strengthening the Turkic World. “As President Ilham Aliyev said, ‘We have no other family. The Turkic World is our family,’” Gafarov mentioned.

The speaker emphasized that the foundation, established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, provides an opportunity for Turkic peoples to better understand each other's culture and heritage, as well as promotes tighter bonds amongst our fraternal nations.

She also pointed out the effective functioning of the foundation and highlighted that there is great potential and, most importantly, the will to further expand its activities.

During the conversation it was noted that the foundation plays an important bridging role in preserving, promoting, and passing on the rich cultural heritage of the Turkic World to future generations. By highlighting the values of the Turkic peoples and strengthening intercultural dialogue, the foundation makes a significant contribution to this field. The work being carried out creates conditions for better global recognition of the Turkic world and greater appreciation of its values.

President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Aktoty Raimkulova, in turn, thanked for the warm welcome and referred to the establishment of the foundation as a correct and farsighted decision. She stressed that culture was a soft force and played an important role in bringing peoples closer together.

Raimkulova talked about the work done by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, about the accomplished projects and pending plans as the conversation drew on. She stated that President Ilham Aliyev's quote, "We have no other family. The Turkic World is our family," had become their motto and that they organized their work precisely that vector.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on various other topics of interest to both parties.
