Russia's offer to provide a platform for Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty negotiations remains valid, Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said, Report informs.
She said that it is difficult to assess the position of the Armenian side: "The meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the peace treaty had to be held in Moscow on December 23, 2022. The two countries' leaders agreed to it, and everything was ready. But the Armenian leadership canceled the visit of Armenian Foreign Minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, at the last moment. This prevented the discussion not only of the peace agreement but also of other pressing issues related to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including the situation around the Lachin corridor."
Zakharova noted that Russia is ready to provide a platform for a peace treaty.
