Azerbaijan regularly fights against all forms of discrimination, Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism, said at a press conference ahead of the event titled "Islamophobia: Unmasking Prejudices and Breaking Stigmas."
He noted that Azerbaijan has faced discrimination throughout its history.
"Islamophobia is also a form of discrimination, and some European organizations still fail to recognize this. Azerbaijan's role in global politics has especially increased after the Second Karabakh War. Azerbaijan has created and supports various platforms in this direction. A website dedicated to a conference on combating Islamophobia is already being developed in Azerbaijan. Most international organizations support Azerbaijan’s stance against Islamophobia," Hasanov said.
He emphasized the importance of international organizations paying attention to this issue.
"Azerbaijan’s steps in this process and its consistency are well known. The conference will focus on the political and legal aspects of Islamophobia, women's rights, as well as media and artificial intelligence," Hasanov noted.
