Energy is one of the priority areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, the North Macedonian President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova told Report.
"We lack gas. I sincerely support the green agenda, but the transition from oil to clean energy takes time. We need gas as a transitional resource, and Azerbaijan plays a key role in providing energy resources to our region. We would like to join this partnership and become part of a broad energy network. I am confident that Azerbaijan understands the situation in the Western Balkans region, and we, in turn, invite Baku to more active engagement," noted Siljanovska-Davkova.
She emphasized that North Macedonia's advantageous geographical position, located at the intersection of transport routes, opens up opportunities for Azerbaijan to expand business cooperation.
Besides energy, the president named tourism, science, and education as promising areas of cooperation.
"During my visit to ADA University, I was impressed by the high level of organization and knowledge of the students. We could establish partnerships in science, education, and culture. Azerbaijan is famous for its rich cultural heritage, and in this regard, we also have much in common. In the era of technological development, distances between countries are becoming increasingly relative. It is important to understand each other more deeply, to come closer, and I am confident that Europe should interact more actively with Asia to form a unified global space," she emphasized.
