Political scientist from Serbia: Relations between Baku and Belgrade are excellent

The relations between Baku and Belgrade are excellent, Serbian international relations analyst Mirko Dautovic told Report.

The expert positively characterized the relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia, highlighting the role of Azerbaijan in the field of cooperation in infrastructure projects in Serbia.

"AzVirt, Azerbaijani company is particularly active in Serbia. In matters of energy, Serbia has been announcing for a while now that it wants to start importing gas and oil from Azerbaijan but so far this hasn't been realized," he noted.

Speaking about the prospects for the development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and the Balkans, Dautovic said: "I think Serbia and its neighbours in Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Hungary, are very much interested into the construction of a northern branch of TAP that currently ends in Italy. They would welcome the flow of Azerbaijani gas and oil as ways of diversifying their energy sources that are currently primarily coming from Russia."
