Over 740 Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan

More than 740 Chinese nationals have been evacuated from Iran to Azerbaijan through the Astara border checkpoint, Report informs via CGTN.

The Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan also announced it has officially launched efforts to assist their return home.

With support from an association of overseas Chinese living in Azerbaijan, the evacuees were transported to hotels in Baku or immediately booked flights back to China.

The embassy noted that more Chinese citizens continue to arrive at the border, and necessary assistance will continue to be provided.
