The European Union mission is seeking to create an extensive spy network in Armenia to strengthen its influence in the region, said Chairman of the temporary commission of the Azerbaijani Parliament on countering external interference and hybrid threats, MP Ramid Namazov said, Report informs.
"Members of the mission hold meetings with young people in Armenian schools, conduct intelligence activities along the border with Azerbaijan. At the same time, in their statements, they claim that they are an unarmed, civilian mission and do not take any actions against Azerbaijan," the MP said at public hearings in parliament.
Namazov also noted that after the arrival of the EU mission in Armenia, about 70 military facilities were built and renovated on the border. This is confirmed by satellite images analyzed by the commission for the period before and after the arrival of the European Union, he said.
"After the arrival of the EU mission in Armenia, trenches, ditches, and shelters were created. Mainly in Syunik, Tavush, Ararat, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik," Namazov added.
