Armenia considers it important to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan through negotiations, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a meeting with US congressmen led by US Senator Roger Wicker, Report informs referring to Armenian media.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry reported that Mirzoyan presented the country’s authorities’ vision for establishing stability and long-term peace in the South Caucasus, including regulating relations with neighbors.
He noted the importance of ensuring the continuity of the border demarcation process with Azerbaijan on the basis of the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991, as well as unblocking regional routes of communication.
The Armenian foreign minister and US parliamentarians exchanged views on Armenian foreign policy and other issues of mutual interest.
