A presentation was made on the mine problem facing Azerbaijan and the activities being carried out to eliminate it at the 28th International Meeting of Mine Action National Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN28) held in Geneva, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
The Azerbaijani delegation in Geneva is headed by ANAMA Deputy Chairman Samir Poladov.
According to him, mine contamination is one of the most pressing humanitarian issues on a global scale.
The event included panel discussions and an exchange of views on the use of new technologies and traditional methods in humanitarian demining.
